How Often Should You Get a Manicure?

One of the most practical nail care questions — and the answer varies depending on what type of manicure you get and what your nails need. Here is the honest guide from Dream Nails, where we see hundreds of clients every month across both our South Kolkata studios.
Gel Manicure: Every 2 to 3 Weeks
Gel polish on natural nails lasts 2 to 3 weeks before chipping or significant regrowth makes it look worn. Book your next gel manicure appointment when booking your current one — this is the easiest way to stay on schedule.
Russian Manicure: Every 3 to 4 Weeks
Russian manicure results last longer because the cuticle removal is more precise and complete. Most clients find 3 to 4 weeks is the ideal interval — results still look fresh at 3 weeks, and 4 weeks is the comfortable maximum before regrowth becomes very visible.
Classic Manicure (No Gel): Every 1 to 2 Weeks
Regular nail polish chips faster than gel. A classic manicure with regular polish typically needs refreshing every 1 to 2 weeks for consistently good-looking nails.
Luxury or Spa Manicure: Monthly
The luxury and spa manicure services at Dream Nails (₹2,500) are a complete hand care experience — exfoliation, mask, extended massage. Monthly is ideal for maintaining excellent hand health alongside your regular nail colour appointments.
If You Wear Extensions
Extension refills every 3 to 4 weeks (gel) or 4 to 5 weeks (acrylic). A full manicure treatment is incorporated into every refill appointment at Dream Nails.
The Simplest Rule
Book your next appointment when you book your current one. Most clients who do this maintain consistently beautiful nails. Those who book reactively — only when nails look bad — end up with longer gaps and poorer results.
